Adverse Weather
and Closure Policy

SupaJam will always endeavour to stay open during adverse weather so that disruption to students' learning is kept to a minimum.

ADVERSE WEATHER

Full day closure:

Should SupaJam need to close for an entire day, we will notify parents/guardians and students via text message and/or email before 8:30am. It is extremely important that we have up to date email addresses and phone numbers for students and parents/guardians. If you fail to provide this information or do not check the website SupaJam cannot be responsible for travel costs incurred on days that we have closed.

A message will also be posted here on SupaJam’s website and on the 'SEMMUK Students' Facebook group.

In this instance, please do not phone SupaJam as there will be no staff present to take phone calls.

Please also check our website directly and do not rely on the opening times displayed on Google.

We will also inform the Kent Closures website, who in turn will inform the local radio stations.

Please log on to www.kentclosures.co.uk or tune in to any of the following:

·       BBC Radio Kent (96.7 FM)

·       Radio KMFM (96.2/101.6 FM)

·       Heart Radio (103.1/102.8 FM)

If your child travels in a taxi to SupaJam, it is your responsibility to inform the taxi company. SupaJam will unfortunately not have the capacity to do this on your behalf.

Early closure:

If the weather deteriorates during a day when SupaJam is already open, we may be forced to close early. Again, parents/guardians will receive a text message and/or email and a message will be posted on our website.

As soon as a decision is made to close we will update the SupaJam website.

Naturally our policy is to keep SupaJam open whenever possible and we will expect all students to attend unless otherwise instructed.

If no announcement is made it should be assumed that SupaJam is open.
