All our bases offer music technology, podcasting, recording, live performance, music journalism and video and photography - but each base has it's key specialities.

In Brighton it's music journalism, video and photography in our two fully equipped photography studios, gallery and dark room.

Complimenting the music is English and Maths, British values and life skills.

What we teach

RSL Level 1 & 2 Creative Music Industries

Here at SupaJam we teach RSL Creative Music Industries Diplomas from Levels 1 to 3.

Level 1 and Level 2 are one year programmes, and Level 3 is a two year programme.

Modules are selected to allow for the development of core Music Industry and Employability skills, helping students to prepare for Higher Education and Employment.

SMSC (Social, Moral, Spiritual and Cultural studies) & British Values

SupaJam understands the importance of our learners having a strong sense of social and moral responsibility.

All our students take part SMSC (Social, Moral, Spiritual and Cultural) studies once per week and provide learners with a safe space to discuss, experience and explore who they are as individuals and challenge some of their previously held stereotypes and views.

Maths and English

English and Maths is an essential part of learning at SupaJam. It's intergrated into our music syllabuses as well as provided in dedicated one to one and small group learning.

For those students ready for GCSE's or retaking SupaJam has recently been awarded exam centre status that allows our examinations to be held in the familiar and comfortable environment that so many of our learners benefit from.

Practical Musicianship

Our students also have the opportunity to develop themselves as musicians, focusing predominately on performance.

This also includes (but is not limited to) production, song writing and instrumental lessons. Students will have the opportunity to work towards performances both in the bases but also at gigs and festivals.

No experience is needed, just a desire to learn!

Photography & Journalism

Photography

Students at Brighton SupaJam benefit from a fully-fledged photographic studio featuring state-of-the-art lighting and camera equipment. We are hugely grateful to Canon who have provided all the kit, including the latest EOS R3 Mirrorless professional action camera, with an explosive speed of 30fps and next generation Eye Control autofocus technology.

SupaJam Brighton also offer a 16 track professional recording studio with a Mackie ProFX32v3 desk, for living mixing, recording and content creation.

In addition, we have our third Machine Room podcast studio, which will not only allow students to interact and collaborate with their peers in other bases, but also to record shows for SuperJam Education on Spotify.

SupaJam Brighton is just a 10 minute walk from Hove station and a 15 minute walk from Brighton station. Cromwell Road has a number of bus routes connecting to the city centre and outlying areas.

Unfortunately there is no parking available at the base but there are local carparks and metered street parking near by.

SupaJam will not pay any parking fines incurred by staff, visitors or students.
